How to Make a DIY Valentine Explosion Box

– 3 sheets of 12×12 inch cardstock (in coordinating colors)
– Scissors

Step 1: Prepare the Base Layer
1. Take your first 12×12 inch cardstock and use a ruler and pencil to mark it into nine equal 4×4 inch squares by drawing two horizontal and two vertical lines.
2. Cut out the four corner squares, leaving a plus-sign shape.
3. Score along the lines for crisp folds, then fold up each side.

Step 2: Create the Second Layer
